The East Hampton boys and girls track teams competed at the Westhampton Beach Invitational in what was the only action either team saw last week.
Taliya Hayes won the novice shot put with a throw of 29 feet 11¾ inches for the Lady Bonackers. She also placed sixth in the open discus with a throw of 91 feet 9 inches. Aryanna Lyons won the freshman 1,500-meter race walk in 8:44.19, while teammate Aspen Segelken finished right behind her in 9:12.05. Nina Piacentine crossed the finish line in third place in the open 1,500-meter race walk in 7:52.58.
Tyra Stewart placed third in the novice 100-meter dash in 13.8 seconds. Alyssa Bahel took a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter race in 11:43. Maddie Smullen placed fourth in the novice triple jump with a leap of 28 feet 3 inches. Cecilia Blowe finished fifth in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet 11½ inches. Blowe, Stewart, Gabby McKay and Allura Leggard finished fifth in the 4×100-meter relay 53.11 seconds.
The Bonackers didn’t have a full squad on hand at the invitational. Eric Perez placed second in the novice 800-meter run in 2:20.01 and Spencer Eamon placed fifth in the same race in 2:24.22. Daniel Soto placed 15th out of 60 runners in the open 100-meter dash in 12.16 seconds. Robert Weiss crossed the finish line just behind Soto in 12.45 seconds, which placed him 17th. Will Ellis finished 11th out of 28 runners in the 110-meter hurdles in 18.4 seconds.
