The second annual Bridgehampton Half-Marathon is set for this Saturday, May 9, starting at 9 a.m.
The 13.1-mile course will take runners through neighborhoods in Sagaponack and Bridgehampton, and starts and ends at the Beebe Windmill on Ocean Road. There will be road closures during the race—Ocean Road, from Main Street to Sagaponack Road, will be closed from 7 a.m. until noon, and Bridge Lane will be closed intermittently all morning.
The race benefits the Bridgehampton Museum and Southampton Hospital, and is a sister event the Hamptons Marathon and Half-Marathon, which takes place in East Hampton in September. Following the inaugural Bridgehampton Half, the race donated $20,000 to the Bridgehampton Museum and Southampton Hospital. Over the past eight years, Hamptons Marathon, Inc. has donated more than $500,000 to support local East End organizations.
