Westhampton Beach Celebrates Arbor Day, Tree City Recognition

Westhampton Beach Village has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a “Tree City USA” for the 27th consecutive year. Officials celebrated the recognition during a ceremony held outside Village Hall on Friday afternoon. Westhampton Beach planted 37 trees this year and renovated its tree walk, village arborist Andrew Derubeis said. Also, students from Westhampton Beach High School’s Classmates United in Restoring the Environment, or CURE, read poetry, played music and planted a tree in celebration of Arbor Day, which was actually the week before.
