The Hampton Bays boys track team improved to 2-3 with a 91-49 win at Babylon. Josh Karl won the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 110-meter high hurdles to lead the Baymen.
Host Center Moriches put up four runs in the first inning on the way to an 8-3 victory over the Lady Baymen. Rebecca Harris’s two-run home run in the third inning brought Hampton Bays to within one run of Center Moriches, but the Lady Red Devils went on to score two in the fourth and two in the fifth to outpace the Lady Baymen.
Harris finished the game 2 for 3 with the home run and a walk. Taylor Dunn was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
Hampton Bays fell to 8-4 in League VI (9-5 overall).
The Hurricanes defeated Harborfields, 6-2, at home, completing the season sweep of the Tornadoes. Mike Pesce got a spot start and pitched well, combining with Seth Peyton, who pitched the final three innings, on a three-hitter.
James Carbone went 3 for 3 in the victory and Oscar Marroquin, who returned last week from injury, went 2 for 2.
Westhampton Beach improved to 13-3 in League VI.
Liz Moschella laid down a squeeze bunt that brought home Kennedy Skala with the go-ahead run, and the Lady Hurricanes hung on for a 5-4 victory at home over Rocky Point. Aurora MacDonald went 2 for 4 with three stolen bases and two runs scored for Westhampton Beach, which improved to 7-9 in League V.
The Lady Hurricanes got back to their winning ways with a 19-9 victory at Islip. Bella Recchion scored four goals, had two assists, picked up four ground balls and caused two turnovers. Hailey Daleo, Caitlin and Isabelle Smith each had five points, and Sarah Culver scored a hat trick.
Westhampton Beach is 5-6 in Division II, 5-7 overall.
