Juja Active, a new activewear retail store, is set to open Memorial Day weekend at 38 Jobs Lane in Southampton. “The vision behind Juja active was to … bring together independent activewear brands in a place that embodies a supportive, nurturing culture,” said Jen Russo, the line’s creator.

blumenfeld + fleming, a marketing firm based in Montauk, recently won 13 awards for their creative ads and websites for local East End clients, including Southampton Hospital, Landscape Details, Laguardia Design, and BMW of Southampton.

The Hamptons and North Fork Realtors Association—or HANFRA—is asking all of its members to participate in a blood drive which will be held on Monday, May 18, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Bridgehampton Firehouse, located on School Street.
Appointments aren’t necessary but may be made by calling (800) 933-2566. Those HANFRA members who choose to donate will be eligible to win $100 in a raffle, and can arrange a ride, if needed, by calling the association at 734-8310.
Richard Stauffer, the association’s executive, said the harsh winter made it difficult for some people to donate, leaving blood supplies critically low, and that the warm weather offers “a great opportunity to replenish those supplies.”
L’Objet’s first-ever store—L’Objet a la Plage, located on Main Street in Southampton—officially opened its doors on Friday, May 1.

The company is best known for its launch of the first ever Missoni Home mono-brand retail location. Hamptons Handpoured, recently launched by East End native Brittany Torres, is a 100-percent soy candle company. Each candle is poured by hand using clean-burning soy and essential oil blends. The company specializes in capturing scents, which allows the customer to take a piece of the Hamptons home with them, a press release says.

The Yoga House, located at 13 West Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays, will host an anniversary celebration with a day of special events on Sunday, May 17, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The day will kick off with a chanting and meditation session for charity, with Tim Kadash, at 8 a.m. Tickets are $10 and proceeds benefit the Southampton Fresh Air Home. Yoga with DJ Downward Dog will be held from 1 to 3 p.m.; the fee is $50. A potluck supper will be held at 6 p.m., followed by live music by reggae band Project Vibe from 7 to 9 p.m., with a $20 cover. Suffolk Bancorp, the parent company of Suffolk County National Bank, recently reported a net income of $4 million, or $.034 per diluted common share, for the first quarter of 2015. This is a significant increase from last year, when the net income was reported at $3.7 million. The 7.8-percent increase in first-quarter earnings of 2015 versus the same period of 2014 resulted from a $1.2 million increase in net interest income and a $201,000 reduction in total operating expenses.
“We experienced a strong start to the year during the first quarter and I am pleased that we are continuing to benefit from the improving economy in our markets and the success of our aggressive expansion strategies,” President and CEO Howard Bluver said.
