Classes Continue At ARFRegistration is open for training classes with the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons from now through the start of the new year. Winter training classes will be held in a heated greenhouse at Wainscott Farms on Daniels Hole Road.
Dog Obedience 101 will meet on Friday, Saturday and Sunday through January 10. Friday classes will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday classes will be held at 9 a.m. Intermediate obedience classes are also available on Friday evenings at 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Dogs and their handlers will learn basic obedience and positive reinforcement techniques. The cost is $150 for five classes.
Puppy Kindergarten will be held on Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. through January 2. Socialization, interactive skills and simple obedience will be taught for puppies at an early age. The cost is $120 for four classes.
Canine Good Citizen classes will meet on Saturdays at 2 p.m. through January 9. This class is designed to reward dogs with good manners at home and in the community. Dogs who pass the 10-step test receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. The cost is $200 for five classes.
