According to a release from Southampton Town Police, James P. Moran was found at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police did not provide further information, including where he was found or who found him.
The Detective Division would like to thank those who provided information, the release said.
Southampton Town Police are looking for a Hampton Bays man who has been missing since Monday afternoon.
Detectives have released a missing person flier for James P. Moran, 53, who police said is depressed, suicidal and has a history of alcohol abuse.
Police said he was last seen at 1:30 p.m. Monday at his home, located at Bowen’s by the Bays on West Montauk Highway. He recently moved to the hamlet and might have been visiting beaches in the area, police said.
Mr. Moran is 5 feet 8 inches and 185 pounds, according to police. His girlfriend, whom police did not name, reported him missing.
Lieutenant Susan Ralph said he had recently been “working on” his alcohol dependency.
He drives a gray Honda Ridgeline with a New York registration of GNE1259, police said.
Southampton Town Police are requesting help from the public to find Mr. Moran and said anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the department at (631) 728-3400.
