Robert Chester Scholl Of East Quogue Dies June 14

Robert Chester Scholl of East Quogue died on June 14 in Spring Hill, Florida. He was 90.

Born October 4, 1025, in Bayshore to Chester and Carrie Scholl, he grew up in Hauppague. After graduating from Smithtown High School in 1943, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned a Bronze Star for his service in the 89th Division of the Third Army in Germany.

After his discharge from the Army, he attended Farmingdale Agricultural and Technical Institute and earned a degree in radio communications. He worked for New York Telephone Company as a switchman.

Upon retiring, he split his time between Florida and East Quogue, where he spent the summers.

Mr. Scholl is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Price Scholl; three sons, Mark and wife Susan of Manhattan and Southampton, Richard and wife Esther of Florida, and William and Kristen of Clifton Park; and five grandchildren, Sam, Kevin, Christopher, Brian and Emily.

A funeral took place on June 17 at the Turner Funeral Home in Spring Hill, followed by burial in the veterans section of the Florida Hills Memorial Gardens, also in Spring Hill.
