One Airlifted To Stony Brook Following Route 114 Crash In Sag Harbor Monday Morning


One person was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital early Monday morning following a three-car crash on Route 114 in Sag Harbor.

According to East Hampton Police Department Captain Chris Anderson, at about 7:30 a.m. a vehicle heading southbound on Route 114 near Swamp Road crossed into the oncoming lane and crashed into two other cars before overturning. Route 114 was closed for about one hour while the driver of the overturned vehicle, who was trapped inside the car, was rescued by East Hampton Fire Department heavy rescue team. The driver, identified as Thomas Sparacino, 24, of Peconic was then transferred to Stony Brook. Mr. Sparacino’s was the only injury reported from the accident and he was later released from the hospital. The road was closed for approximately one hour while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
