Eastern Portion Of State Route 114 Scheduled For Repaving

The State Department of Transportation has announced that $75 million of funding will be used to resurface the easternmost portion of State Route 114 in East Hampton.

The section of the road scheduled to be repaired extends east from the intersection with Stephen Hands Path to its terminus with Montauk Highway in the Village of East Hampton.

The DOT has indicated that the project will be completed during or before the fall of 2017, while a portion of the road, under the railroad trestle by Cove Hollow Road, has already been resurfaced.

In the meantime, however, state legislators have been fighting to secure funds that will allow the entire length of Route 114 to be resurfaced, noting the deteriorating condition of both the vehicle and pedestrian portions of the road.
