Marta Blanco, a nutritionist from Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Nutrition Health and Obesity Prevention Program, has been visiting Steve Meyers’ health class for Nutrition Tuesdays. Students have been learning all aspects of proper nutrition for cooking, shopping and eating out. Students will have a chance to prepare a healthy meal this week with the help and guidance of Ms. Blanco. Among the healthy items to be made are black bean quesadilla, a salad, salsa, and homemade dressing.

Kameron Kaiser’s virtual enterprise class will be going to Long Island University’s C.W. Post campus in Brookville for a leadership conference on Wednesday. Junior Milo Youngerman will be competing in the elevator pitch competition where he has to pitch his business in 60 seconds or less. Milo will be competing against 72 other firms for the best pitch. The class will also watch a breakout session about fashion and learn some insider tactics for business.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors will go to Bay Street Theater on Thursday, November 17, to see a performance of “The Scarlet Letter,” part of Bay Street’s Literature Live! program. The performance will be followed with a discussion afterward with the cast and theater crew.
