The East Hampton Village Board voted last week to raise the number of available nonresident beach parking permits for the upcoming 2017 season.
The board held a public hearing at its meeting on Friday and then voted to increase the number of nonresident villagewide beach parking permits to 3,100, and to increase the number of daily parking permits that will be sold to non-permit holders at Main Beach to 60. The original number of available nonresident beach parking permits had been 3,000 since 2013, and the number of daily parking permits at Main Beach was 40.
The board also voted to set the fee for nonresident parking permits at $400 and the fee for daily parking available for non-permit holders at $30. The fee for nonresident parking permits had been $375 since 2012 and the fee for daily parking had been $25 since 2011.
