Shirley R. King of East Moriches died on November 18. She was 74.
A longtime resident of Long Island, Ms. King was born on October 20, 1935, in Greenlawn, New York. She graduated from Center Moriches High School in 1952 and had a long career as an office manager and bookkeeper at Raynor, Marcks & Carrington Surveying in Quogue.
In addition, she was member of the United Methodist Church in Center Moriches and served on numerous committees affiliated with the church.
Family members recalled this week her love of travel, Long Island, and the beach.
She is survived by a daughter, Randi R. King and her husband Kenneth Larsen of Atlanta; a son, Timothy King and his wife Janice, formerly of East Moriches; a brother, Harry E. Robins of Vermont; three grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marie Robins of Center Moriches; and three nephews, Kenny Robins, Klint Robins and Chris Robins, all of Center Moriches.
The family received visitors on November 23 at Sinnicksons Moriches Funeral Home in Center Moriches. Funeral services were held on November 24, with Pastor Ken Prill of the Center Moriches United Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Center Moriches.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the United Methodist Church, 464 Main Street, Center Moriches, NY 11934 would be appreciated by the family.
