Southampton Hospital launched a newly revamped website last weekend.
The redesign adds a number of standard web features, such as a search box and a bookmark button, and a share button that allows users to share content with more than 260 other websites, including Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. The site, www.southamptonhospital.org, features video clips from the “Focus on Southampton Hospital” series produced by SEA-TV Channel 22. Quick links for finding a physician and paying bills and a page for the hospital’s Department of Medical Education were also among the updates.
“It’s like heightened navigation,” commented Marsha Kenny, the hospital’s director of marketing and public affairs. “It just makes it so much easier and you don’t always have to go back to the homepage.”
The project was undertaken by McMurry, a marketing communications company in Arizona, and overseen by Priscilla Egan, the site’s webmaster and public affairs associate for the hospital.
“It’s a completely new experience for people using our website,” Ms. Egan said. “We hope the community will get more involved with the hospital.”
