Bonnie Anderson from The Suffolk County Department of Health Services presented an anti-tobacco program to Mr. Meyers’ eighth grade health class on Monday, April 15. Ms. Anderson spoke about new tobacco products on the market that target teens and spoke of the dangers of these products. The presentation also included technology that used student photographs to demonstrate the effects of smoking and sun exposure on students’ skin over time. Ms. Anderson’s lesson helped students learn that tobacco not only hurts the inside of one’s body, but that it can damage one’s appearance as well.
