ESM Baseball Gets Back On Track With Victory Monday


The Eastport South Manor baseball team got back to its winning ways with a 9-7 victory at home on Monday. Mike Burkhardt led the offense as he was 1 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs. Chris Goncalves got the win with four and two-third innings of relief. He allowed just one earned run. ESM (10-3 League VI) lost its first series of the season last week to Miller Place.
Westhampton Beach Baseball
A three-run home run by Ethan Fox in the top of the first inning was all Miller Place needed as it topped host Westhampton Beach, 5-0, on Monday. The Hurricanes are 2-11 in League VI.
ESM Boys Tennis
The Sharks lost, 5-2, at home to William Floyd on Monday. Raymond Jaing defeated Alex Reiley, 6-4, 6-1, at second singles and Jason Lin defeated Darren Chan, 6-4, 6-2, at third singles. ESM has lost five of its last six matches.
Hampton Bays Girls Lacrosse
The Lady Baymen (0-9 Division II) lost, 15-1, at home to Kings Park on Monday.
Westhampton Beach 
Girls Lacrosse
The Lady Hurricanes squeaked out a an 11-8 victory at Mattituck/Greenport/Southold on Monday. Sammie Vickers, Bella and Zoe Recchion all scored two goals each for Westhampton Beach, which improved to 6-4 in Division II play.
ESM Girls 
The Lady Sharks dominated Comsewogue on Monday with a 17-4 victory on the Lady Warriors home field. Jackie Wasilko led the offense with four goals and an assist while Allyson Tolken scored three goals and had an assist.
ESM won 9-2 at Westhampton Beach on Monday. Dana Taglioni went 4 for 4 with a double and three runs scored while Nina Gaita went 3 for 4 with three runs and four RBIs.
