Mike Byrne’s fifth grade students were the presenters for the May assembly that highlighted the work of the elementary students with pen pals in different areas of the world. The students first shared a DVD made with the help of teacher assistant Ninfa Boyd in which they spoke Spanish, and sent to their pen pals in Haiti. The class then demonstrated their use of and how their class is connected to four schools in different locations including Pennsylvania, Indiana, the Virgin Islands and Sweden. The fifth-graders completed their presentation by sharing how they used ePals to view articles, videos, and take online field trips.
