East Quogue Community Notes, June 13

I have my ticket to the hottest event in East Quogue—do you have yours? I hope so because I’ve heard tell that tickets are going fast for the inaugural East Quogue Technology Grant Fundraiser. But there’s good news. A few tickets are still available. This fun event, sponsored by the East Quogue PTA, takes place this Friday, June 14, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Dockers Waterside Restaurant and Marina on Dune Road.

To make the festivities even more exciting, there are some fantastic prizes featured in the silent auction. They include: a complete car detailing from Hampton Auto Wash; a Hampton Hills golf outing for four; a North Fork wine tour for two; a Riverhead “staycation” at the Holiday Inn with tickets to Splish Splash and the aquarium; and a wildlife basket from me with a signed copy of my book, to name a few.

Buffet tickets are $50 each and include imported and domestic beers, wine, champagne, coffee, dessert and live music. Tickets can be purchased at the East Quogue Elementary School on Central Avenue. For more information, send an email to Eastquoguepta@optonline.net.

And, speaking of great prizes, the members of the East Quogue Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will be holding a Chinese auction on Saturday, June 29, at the Montauk Highway firehouse. The doors open at 3 p.m. for a sneak peek at all of the fantastic auction items. The raffle begins at 5 p.m.

The ladies have prepared light refreshments and there will be a 50/50 raffle. Tickets, which will be sold at the door, cost $15 and come with 25 free raffle tickets. All proceeds will benefit the Ladies Auxiliary and our community. For more information, please call (631) 653-4444 or (631) 494-8834.

Kudos go to Brian Dickson who received his degree in law enforcement from SUNY Plattsburgh. Brian, who also made the dean’s list, hopes to pursue his career on Long Island. His proud parents are Patrick and Dianne.
