Softball Tournament Set For June 15 Will Benefit The Ronald McDonald House

A community Softball-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, June 15, starting at 10 a.m., at Red Creek Park in Hampton Bays. The second annual recreational softball tournament, which was the creation of eighth grade student Billy Dzanoucakis of Hampton Bays, will benefit Kids Stock the House, one of the largest student fundraising organizations for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.

Teams from Hampton Bays, Southampton, Deer Park, Westhampton and other areas will compete for a trophy. Hampton Bays firefighters will be hosting a cookout, and candy, popcorn and beverages will be sold.

The first pitch will be thrown by Miss Long Island 2013 Jessica Ricco and Miss Teen Long Island 2013 Lauren Doherty.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased on the day of the event. Spectators are advised to arrive early, around 9:15 a.m., on Saturday.

Kids Stock the House is a student-run, all-volunteer organization founded by Donna Christina Oliverio of Hampton Bays. For more information, call Ms. Oliverio at (516) 456-2172 or visit
