Southampton High SchoolSenior Awards Night was held on Monday, June 17, during which graduating seniors were awarded a collective $250,000 in scholarships from a variety local, state, and national organizations.

The Junior/Senior Prom will be held at Vineyard Caterers in Aquebogue on Friday, June 21.

Graduation will be held on Sunday, June 23, at 2 p.m. in the Southampton High School Auditorium.

Rotary Students of the Month from the 2012-13 school year were invited to the June 13 Rotary meeting at the Southampton Publick House. Southampton Intermediate SchoolFifth grade students celebrated meeting their 20 Book Challenge on Friday, June 14, with a visit to the movie theater to see “Epic” followed by an afternoon of bowling fun at All-Star Bowling in Riverhead. The challenge, to read 20 books, was issued by their teachers early in the school year and supported by their parents’ agreement to send in $1 for each book completed.Southampton Elementary SchoolMoving-up ceremonies were held for both the oldest and youngest elementary school students last week. On Tuesday, June 11, the fourth-graders crossed the stage and will head to the intermediate school in the fall. Guest speakers were Debra Peters and Cathy Musick, who recognized the students for their years of community service as a class. On Friday, June 14, future teachers, veterinarians, fire fighters, tool men, mommies, daddies, and even Batman and Spiderman walked across the stage to “Move Up” from pre-K to kindergarten.

Field Day was held on Wednesday, June 12. Students took part in paddleball, ring toss, hopscotch, bocce, golf putting, giant Twister, beach volleyball and water limbo to celebrate the end of a successful school year.
