Congratulations go out this week to a few local residents who earned academic honors at their respective colleges. Robin Bonner, who recently graduated from the University of Rhode Island, Gina Arfi, who attends Hofstra University, and Brianna Spano, who is enrolled at the University of Vermont, were each named to the dean’s list for the spring semester. Way to go, ladies!Rhonda Denet will perform with the Silver Fox Songs Trio on the Westhampton Beach Village Green tonight, Thursday, July 25, as part of the 2013 Gazebo Summer Concert Series. They will perform songs from Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday and Gladys Knight, to name a few.

As always, the free outdoor show starts at 7:30 p.m. and, in case of rain, will be moved indoors to the Westhampton Beach High School auditorium. Next Thursday, August 1, The Swingtime Big Band will perform.

The Westhampton Aviators have fielded a pretty good team in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League this season. They have only a few more games left before the playoffs begin on Monday, July 29. They will play their remaining home games at Hite Field, behind the Westhampton Beach Elementary School on Mill Road, at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, and Friday, July 26. Stop down and check out some possible major league talent before the season ends.

The third annual “Tour de Pour” bar crawl to raise money for pancreatic cancer research in memory of Mark Raynor will take place on Sunday, July 28, starting at 4 p.m. at Jonesey’s on Montauk Highway in Westhampton Beach. A portion of the proceeds will benefit cancer research.

It is circus time! The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center will host the Zoppé Italian Circus on the Great Lawn this Thursday, July 25, at 7 p.m., Friday, July 26, at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 27, at 2 and 7 p.m., and Sunday, July 28, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $29 for children and $54 for adults. There is also a VIP option for $2,500, which gets you ringside seating for four adults and 10 children, a workshop with the circus stars, tickets to a post-show reception, reserved parking and more. Local photographer Cheryl Machat Dorskind will be showing her photopaintings at The Remsenburg Academy, 130 South Road, through Sunday, August 11. Gallery hours are noon until 5 p.m. every Thursday through Sunday; private viewings can be scheduled by calling (888) 395-1666. And there will be an artist’s reception for Cheryl this Friday, July 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. All are welcome.

The Knights of Columbus, Father Joseph Slomski Council 7423, will host its fourth annual summer concert on Friday, August 2, in the parish center of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, off Meeting House Road on Quiogue. The doors open at 6 p.m., with the concert starting at 8 p.m.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, and snacks and beverages will be available. Tickets are $25 for general admission, or $60 for VIP, and now available in the parish office or at Lynne’s Cards and Gifts and Westhampton T-Shirts, both on Main Street in the village. The Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce will host the 41st annual Mary O. Fritchie Outdoor Juried Art Show on Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and on Sunday, August 4, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the Village Green. Bideawee will host its annual “Love on a Leash” walk on Saturday, August 17. The walk will begin at the Village Green at 8 a.m. (registration starts at 7 a.m.) and will wander around Westhampton Beach and end up back at the Village Green. Maureen’s Haven will host its third annual Lobster Bash fundraiser on Thursday, August 22, from 6 until 10 p.m., at Dockers Waterside Restaurant and Marina on Dune Road in East Quogue. This year’s event will have a country theme and actress Susan Lucci and her son, Andreas Huber, are the honorary chairs.

The Rotary Club of Westhampton will host its annual Bill Hautmann Flea Market on the Great Lawn in Westhampton Beach on Saturday, August 10, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., and on Sunday, August 11, from noon until 5 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children between 6 and 12 years of age. There will be tons of vendors, live music, refreshments and plenty of free parking. This event will take place rain or shine.
