Police: Southampton 7-Eleven Employee Threatened Customer Over Parking Spot


An employee at the Southampton Village 7-Eleven was arrested last week after police said he threatened a customer with a knife.

Ashok Masih, 47, of Medford, was arrested on Wednesday, July 17, at 6:37 p.m. following a fight with a customer over a parking space in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven on the corner of County Road 39 and North Sea Road.

During the fight, Mr. Masih spit on the complainant, who has not been identified, threatened him with a knife, and broke the side-view mirror off his 1996 Chevrolet, according to a press release issued by Southampton Village Police Detective Sergeant Herman Lamison. No injuries were reported.

Mr. Masih was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, all misdemeanors. He was held for arraignment and released after posting $250 cash bail.
