Power Outages In Sag Harbor Area

Two separate power outages at around 4 p.m. on Thursday, about a mile apart around Sag Harbor, left as many as 2,600 Long Island Power Authority customers without power.

According to a LIPA customer service representative, the peak of the outages in the Sag Harbor and Bay Point area was at around 4:20 p.m., and 20 minutes later the number without power was back down to 1,005.

The LIPA employee said crews have been dispatched to fix the outages and the issue was to be resolved by 5:30 p.m., but could not say whether it was from a “lightning strike, a fallen branch, air-conditioner use or anything else.”
