Justin Bieber’s Security Team Involved In Brawl Outside Southampton Night Club

Pop singer Justin Bieber’s security detail was involved in a brawl down the block from a Southampton nightclub that Southampton Town Police are investigating this week.

According to a report filed with Southampton Town Police, a 22-year-old Hampton Bays resident told them he was arguing with security staff for the singer just before 4 a.m. on Sunday outside the South Pointe Nightclub on Tuckahoe Lane. A short time later, the man said, he threw a rock at Mr. Bieber’s black SUV, causing eight to 10 men to exit the car and assault him.

In a video of the incident that is circulating on the internet, Mr. Bieber can be seen jumping out of the sunroof of his SUV and standing on the hood before jumping to the ground. The pop star then attempts to rush in the direction of the apparent kerfuffle but is blocked by security. The video does not show the actual fight.

Southampton Town Police, who were not at the scene during the incident, are asking for any witnesses to the alleged assault to contact the detectives’ division at 702-2230.

According to Melanie Weitzner, publicist for the South Pointe Night Club, Mr. Bieber arrived at the club at 2:40 a.m. on Sunday with friends and security staff. The group left the club at approximately 3:20 a.m. Ms. Weitzner confirmed that police are investigating the incident, which happened down the street from the club. Staff from the club have been told not to comment at this time because it may conflict with the police investigation, according to the publicist.

Police said the department did not learn about the fight until later in the day on Sunday, when, at 12:34 p.m., they were contacted by the Peconic Bay Medical Center. The hospital was treating the local man for non-life-threatening injuries suffered during the incident, police said.

Representatives for Justin Bieber could not be reached for comment this week.
