Two people were treated for minor injuries after a car crashed into a Hill Street bank in Southampton Village on Sunday afternoon.
According to Southampton Fire Department 2nd Assistant Chief Chris Brenner, Southampton Village Police and the fire department were dispatched to the Hudson City Savings Bank at 3:42 p.m. The vehicle, he said, struck the building and damaged the door. Mr. Brenner noted that his department was called to the scene by the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance, which also responded.
On Sunday evening, Mr. Brenner said two unidentified people were taken to Southampton Hospital for evaluation, but it is unclear if they were in the bank or the car at the time of the accident. The bank did not sustain any structural damage.
Southampton Village Police, who are investigating, did not provide additional information about the accident and the two injured individuals.
