Evelyn Darling, Owner Of Mrs. D’s Hot Dogs, Dies October 5


Evelyn L. Darling of Westhampton Beach died at Southampton Hospital on October 5. She was 83.

Ms. Darling ran Mrs. D’s Hot Dogs on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays for more than 25 years.

She is survived by her children, Warren Lee Darling and wife Kathy of Illinois, Belinda Nakamura and husband Deron of Riverhead, Barry K. Darling of Westhampton Beach, Eric Darling and fiancée Linda of East Quogue, Dee Bonner and husband John of East Quogue, and Lori Darling of Westhampton Beach. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Bishop of Illinois; and 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Warren; and two sons, Robert Paul and Richard A. Darling.

Visiting hours were held at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 8, and funeral services were on Wednesday, October 9, at the funeral home with Reverend George Mangan officiating.

Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
