The winter concert will take place on Thursday, December 12, at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium. Holiday and winter themed songs will be performed by all the musical groups including band, large and small choruses, guitar ensemble and orchestra, making for a festive evening for family, friends, and members of the community.

The third-graders will make their performing arts presentation on Monday, December 16, at 1:45 p.m.

Session 1 of the after-school enrichment opportunities is drawing to a close and several of the clubs are participating in culminating activities. In addition to the winter concert for our musical groups, the Songwriters Club, under the guidance of teacher Nancy Remkus, will perform the songs they wrote at Morning Program on Tuesday, December 17. The Dance Club will perform at Morning Program on Thursday, December 19. The theme of this session of Dance Club was Musical Theater, and the children will be dancing to “Step in Time,” the chimney sweep song from Mary Poppins, under the direction of school counselor Michelle Grant. Teacher Kryn Olson and teaching assistant Keelin McKenna supervised the Cooking Club as they prepared a special meal for their families in the library. They created special table settings and served minestrone, spaghetti squash marinara, cornbread, and salad. Teaching assistant Diane Deger brought the members of her Japanese Club to Sen, the Japanese restaurant on Main Street in Sag Harbor. The students ate sushi, practiced speaking Japanese, and learned more about the Japanese culture while they were there. Session 2 begins on Monday, January 6.

The Sag Harbor Elementary School PTA is holding its annual Gingerbread Night on Friday, December 13, at 6:30 p.m.
