Tuckahoe School News, December 12

Tuckahoe School

Seventh-graders in Laurie Verdeschi’s Family and Consumer Science class planted crocus bulbs to beautify the school grounds. Students wrote to Lynch’s Garden Center in Southampton and White Flower Farm in Connecticut to ask for donations of these hardy spring flowering bulbs. They were rewarded with generous donations from both nurseries and they promptly planted 260 crocuses. This week, thank you notes are on the agenda. The Student Council is looking for students and community members to take the plunge on December 14 at the Polar Bear Plunge at Coopers Beach, to raise money for the Human Resources of the Hamptons. Student Council is also holding its annual Mitten Drive through December 22. New hats, gloves, scarves and gently used coats are requested as donations.
