Dr. Donal E. Keller, Formerly Of Westhampton Beach, Dies December 3

Donal E. Keller, DDS, of Leesburg, Virginia, formerly of Manhasset and Westhampton Beach, died surrounded by his family on December 3. He was 89.

Born in Santa Monica, California, to the late Flora and Jack Keller, he was raised in Brooklyn and a proud graduate of James Madison High School, Ohio State University, where he was a member of the varsity fencing team, and New York University College of Dentistry. He was a lieutenant, senior grade, in the U.S. Navy. For 50 years, he practiced dentistry in Manhasset, in private practice, and as the director of dental services for St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn. Survivors said he was known for his ice-blue eyes, dry wit, unconditional love, thoughtfulness and loyalty. His wife, who is five foot two, considered him, at six feet, to be a handsome, gentle giant of a man, they said.

Dr. Keller is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara (Feuer) Keller; three children and their spouses, Dr. Andrew Keller and wife Gillian, Jane Gordon and husband Lawrence, and Marjorie Powers and husband Alan; grandchildren, Benjamin Keller, Emma Keller, Hailey Gordon, Bradley Gordon and Matthew Powers; nephew, Michael Glaubman and wife Nancy; and niece, SueEllen Ebertz and husband Mark; many friends, cousins, and his devoted caregiver Jorge Villena.

Funeral services are private.
