UPDATE: Snow In Forecast For East End On Tuesday, Cancellations Announced


UPDATE, 3:10 P.M.:

The Quogue School Board of Education meeting scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Tuesday has been postponed because of inclement weather.

Quogue School District Clerk Lisa Prosano said the meeting has been rescheduled for the same time next Tuesday, December 17.

UPDATE, 1:50 P.M.:

East Hampton High School boys and girls basketball has been canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday at the same time.

The Amagansett and Montauk schools have both canceled all after school activities.

All after school activities for the Southampton school district, including the December Board of Education meeting and homework club, have been canceled. The Board meeting has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, December 17, at 7:30 p.m. at the District Intermediate School.

After school activities at Tuckahoe, including the Pre-k through third grade concert, have also been canceled. The school is working on a new date for the show, which will be announced on the district website.


The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 5 p.m. Tuesday night, expecting “a plowable snow” to fall in the area.

The forecast predicts 2 to 4 inches of snowfall during the daylight hours, with temperatures around 30 degrees. It also warns of hazardous, icy conditions for the afternoon commute, with rain possible in the evening.
