Police Arrest Man For Threatening Man With Pellet Gun


Southampton Town Police arrested a Westhampton man Wednesday night after they say he threatened an acquaintance with a pellet gun.

According to a press release issued Wednesday night, Gabriel Costello, 28, of Westhampton, was arrested and charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, as well as second-degree harassment, a violation.

At 6 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a call about a male subject in a Montauk Highway house with a gun. Upon arriving on scene, officers discovered that Mr. Costello had pointed what appeared to be a revolver at another, unidentified man, and threatened to kill him.

Mr. Costello was arrested, and the gun was later determined to be a pellet gun. He was taken to police headquarters for processing.
