Ms. Wright’s 12th grade English class has been working with Stony Brook Southampton’s Young American Writers Program to create original one-act plays. Tatyana Dawson, Henry Kotz, and Jerome Walker successfully completed the playwriting program, and Tayana Dawson’s play, a comedy called “Girl Code” was performed by fellow classmates Jennah Hochstedler and India Hemby on the Avram Theater stage last Friday and Saturday, December 13 and 14. Junior Hayley Lund had the job of stage manager. Bridgehampton high school students traveled to the Avram Theater in Southampton on Friday afternoon to view the performance.

The annual holiday luncheon for all students in pre-K through grade 12 and the staff, sponsored by the Compassion in Action student council (CIA) will take place on Friday, December 20, at noon in the gymnasium. The CIA will be selling raffle tickets for items donated by local merchants with proceeds to go to needy families in the district. The CIA will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to shave Social Studies teacher, John Reilly’s hair, with proceeds going to needy families. Two lucky winners chosen at the luncheon will get to do the hair shaving on Friday. The CIA is also sponsoring a food drive. All non-perishable food items may be dropped off in Ms. Sanchez’s room before December 20.
