Pierson To Host Recruiting Seminar


The Sag Harbor School District, under the direction of Margaret Motto, college and career guidance counselor, and Todd Gulluscio, director of athletics, physical education, health, wellness and personnel, will be hosting a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) recruiting seminar for students in grades 7-12 and parents on Thursday, January 16, in the Pierson Middle/High School library starting at 5:30 p.m.

Wayne Mazzoni, author of “The Athletic Recruiting & Scholarship Guide,” will be the evening’s keynote speaker. Topics to be discussed include NCAA clearinghouse rules, academic requirements, self-evaluation of athletic talents, maximizing visibility, attending recruiting programs, rules of communication, evaluating the right college programs, the athletic recruiting process, evaluating offers and letters of intent. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for questions from those in attendance.

All students in grades 7-12 who are interested in continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level, as well as parents, are encouraged to attend this informative seminar.
