Lemos | AndrewsKristin Laura Andrews, the daughter of Carol and John Andrews of Sag Harbor, and Christopher Alvaro Lemos, son of Nancy D. Lemos of North Bethesda, Maryland, and Emilio Alvaro Lemos of Pontevedra, Spain, were married on September 15 in Lake Placid. The ceremony took place at the Adirondack Community Church with the Reverend John Martin officiating. A reception followed at the Lake Placid Club.
Ms. Andrews’s close friend Doria Goorevich of North Bethesda, Maryland, served as maid of honor. Laura Ramos of Silver Spring, Maryland, Maureen Baran of San Diego, California, and Sarah Erskine of Kensington, Maryland, all served as bridesmaids.
Mr. Lemos’s best man was close friend Julio Navascuez Jr., of Washington, D.C. The groomsmen were Christopher Drury of Rockville, Maryland, Jason Meyers of New Berlin, Wisconsin, and Philippe Kozub of Bethesda, Maryland. Ushers were Walter Nelson of Baltimore, Maryland, and Scott Panek of Sun Valley, California.
The couple met in late 2009 through two close mutual friends and members of the bridal party, Laura Ramos and Philippe Kozub. They developed their relationship while training for and competing in triathlons, a sport in which both have achieved Ironman status.
The bride, a graduate of Mercy High School in Riverhead, earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in public health from Emory University. She is employed by Mathematica Policy Research in Washington, D.C. and also competes as a professional triathlete.
The groom earned a bachelor’s degree in mass media communications from the University of Maryland. He is employed by OpenText Corporation.
The couple honeymooned in Telluride, Colorado, and now reside in the Glen Echo Heights area of Bethesda, Maryland.
