PSEG To Issue $8,000 Rebate Check To College

The Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) Long Island, formerly the Long Island Power Authority, has notified Suffolk County Community College officials that they will receive a $8,000 rebate check for their high-efficiency LED lighting previously installed at the Peconic Building on their eastern campus in Northampton.

“This most recent savings brings the college’s total income from rebates, energy efficiency projects and grants to $1,667,122,” Suffolk County Community College President Dr. Shaun L. McKay said in a prepared statement.

Mr. McKay also noted that, since 2000, the college, which also has campuses in Selden and Brentwood, has been involved in nearly 50 projects that strive to reduce its energy costs. Those projects include the installation of solar panels and LED lighting, as well as the installation of high-efficiency heating and air conditioning systems at all three campuses.
