POLICE: Another East Hampton Resident Found Dead Outside Home On Thursday

An East Hampton woman was found dead outside her residence on Hands Creek Road on Thursday morning, according to East Hampton Town Police.

At 10:49 a.m., a home health aide contacted town police when she arrived at the residence and was unable to locate the woman.

When the police arrived, officers discovered the snow-covered body of Catherine Dransfield, 67, who lived with her elderly mother at 669 Hands Creek Road, according to Captain Chris Anderson.

Although there is an ongoing investigation, the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature, Capt. Anderson said.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner will determine cause of death.

Ms. Dransfield was a broker for the Saunders real estate firm.
