The Suffolk Theater in downtown Riverhead has hired Diane Tucci, a local woman with 20 years of media experience, to serve as its marketing director, officials announced last week.
Ms. Tucci previously served as the theater’s photographer, documenting its former state through the renovation process and its grand reopening last year.
She grew up in downtown Riverhead and attended the theater as a kid.
“I have a great respect for the hard work and dedication of owners Bob and Dianne Castaldi,” she said, in a press release sent out by the theater.
Before joining the theater, Ms. Tucci freelanced for various local publications, including the Suffolk Times, The Riverhead News Review, Riverhead Local and Good Times Magazine.
Her experience as a photographer and her skill with Photoshop and other design software makes her ideal for the job, theater officials said, which will include creating all advertising and marketing materials. Ms. Tucci will also be responsible for overseeing the theater’s social media and website, advertising, and marketing strategy for events.
In 1994, Ms. Tucci established her own business, Diane Tucci Photography and Design, which offers web design and event photography. She said her passion for photography stems from working alongside her father in a darkroom as a child. She has experience in studio lighting and portrait photography, as well as photographing events.
She said her goal is to grow the number of the theater’s visitors and get the word out about its new programming so that it can continue to help foster the revitalization of the area, according to the press release.
