I took a quick walk through the farmers market in Riverhead on Saturday afternoon. It was the first day of the indoor market, which was being held in the old Swezey’s building at 117 East Main Street. The Riverhead Farmers Market will be open every Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., until May 17. Local vendors set up tables and are selling all different things and giving out samples. A female guitar player and vocalist provided background music. You can buy soap, beer, wine, baked goods, jams, fish, eggs, donuts, cheese, coffee and more.
Stop by some Saturday afternoon and check it out. With the Suffolk Theater across the street offering lots of different shows, it looks like the revival of Riverhead is happening. The Suffolk Theater will present Johnny Winter on Friday, February 7, Booker T on Sunday, February 16, and Rag Doll on Saturday, February 22. And they will celebrate their first anniversary with a special gala on Saturday, March 1.
