Cranberry Hole Road To Close For Bridge Repair Monday Through Friday

Cranberry Hole Road in Amagansett will be closed for bridge repair starting Monday, February 24, according to Metropolitan Transportation Authority Spokesman Salvatore Arena. The Long Island Rail Road will install two new steel bridge beams as part of its regular bridge maintenance program on the 95-year-old Cranberry Hole Road Bridge, he said. The LIRR said that the closing will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Monday and reopen on or before Friday, February 28, and there will be a traffic detour for five days while construction is ongoing, according to Mr. Arena. After that, work on the bridge will continue for several weeks, but is not expected to require any further road closures. KYRIL BROMLEY
