Nominations are being sought for the 2014 New York State Veterans Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame, which has been in existence since 2005, pays tribute to men and women from the East End of Long Island who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
State Senator Kenneth P. LaValle is accepting nominations online at www.senatorlavalle.com. Those wanting to submit names can attach a short essay on each nominee with a photo in addition to the nominee’s rank and other military awards and achievements.
The deadline for submissions is April 14.
Nominees will be reviewed and chosen by Mr. LaValle and his staff. The names of inductees will be displayed online on the senator’s website, and there will be a ceremony on Tuesday, May 20, at the legislative office building in Albany to honor the 2014 inductees.
“In the past, our Hall of Fame selections from our area have exemplified the best in the ranks,” Mr. LaValle said. “I expect that trend to continue again this year.”
