Three Departments Put Out Structure Fire In Amagansett

A house under construction in Amagansett was completely destroyed by fire, which also ignited a neighboring house, on Thursday, April 17. The Amagansett Fire Department responded to the building at Miankoma Lane at 1:43 a.m. and found it entirely engulfed in flames.

The East Hampton Fire Department was called in for backup, as was the Springs Fire Department and the Rapid
Intervention Team from
Sag Harbor. No one was
injured, according to East Hampton Town Fire Marshal Tom Baker.

Mr. Baker said in the attempt to extinguish the fire, some of the embers fell onto a neighboring house, igniting another fire, which was put out shortly after and collateral damage was minimal.

All departments were on the scene until 6 a.m, said Mr. Baker. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
