The East Hampton boys tennis team picked up its first win of the season on Monday, edging Longwood in a 4-3 non-league road match.
At first singles, Julian MacGurn won 6-0, 6-1, and at second singles, Ravi MacGurn won 6-1, 6-2. Ben Karlin won 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles for the Bonackers, and the third doubles team of Zach Bogetti and Harrison Kennedy won 6-2, 6-4 to give East Hampton its fourth point.
Matt Lownes was downed 6-1, 6-4 at third singles, while the first doubles team of Brady Yusko and Nicki Neubert lost in three sets, 6-7, 7-5, 1-6, and the second doubles team of Kyle Fallon and Matt McMullen lost 6-0, 6-4.
East Hampton improved to 1-8 overall, 0-8 in League VII.
The Hurricanes (8-0 in League VII, 9-2 overall) lost just their second match of the year, falling 6-1 at Half Hollow Hills East on Monday. Individual scores were not available at press time. Hills East is currently undefeated at 6-0 in League I, 12-0 overall.
