There are a few happy birthday wishes to be sent out this week. First one goes to Jackie Bennett, who celebrates her special day on Thursday, April 24. Next up is Mike Crennan, who turns another year older on Friday, April 25. And last, but certainly not least, a big happy birthday to my buddy Steve Arrasate, who will be playing poker with his nine best friends when he celebrates his birthday on Wednesday, April 30. Happy birthday, folks!The Westhampton Beach Lacrosse Club will be holding a fundraiser this Friday, April 25, from 7 until 11:30 p.m., at Agave’s, located at 142 Mill Road in Westhampton Beach. Tickets are $20 at the door and there will be a DJ, plenty of dancing, lots of appetizers, a 50/50 raffle and a cash bar.

Westhampton Boy Scout Troop 62 will hold its fourth annual yard sale on Saturday, April 26, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., at 39 Oneck Lane in Westhampton Beach. The Scouts are raising money for camping gear and supplies.

The EcoFriends PTO will host its sixth annual Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 26, from 1 to 4 p.m., on the Westhampton Beach Village Green. This year, organizers will be assisting with the proper disposal of electronic waste (or e-waste) and prescription medication. The rain date for this event is Sunday, April 27. The second annual Backpacks for Fellow Students Spring Splash fundraiser and KanJam tournament will take place this Saturday, April 26, starting at 10:30 a.m., over at Rogers Beach in the village. The Friends of the Westhampton Library will hold its monthly book sale at the library on Sunday, April 27, from 12:30 until 3:30 p.m. There will also be a presentation on digital photography by local photographer John Nelly from 1 to 3 p.m.

Human Understanding and Growth Seminars Inc. (aka HUGS) will host its 12th annual Spring Fling Bowling Fundraiser on Friday, May 2, over at Wildwood Lanes on Lake Avenue in Northampton. Check-in will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the cost is $40 per bowler.

There will be a 50/50 raffle, a Chinese auction and a raffle for a Weber grill, which is currently on display at Westhampton True Value. It is also suggested that attendees be 21 and over. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call (631) 288-9505.

The Westhampton Presbyterian Church, located at 90 Meetinghouse Road on Quiogue, will hold a rummage sale on Friday, May 2, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. until noon, which is also their famous Bag Sale day.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will host the eighth annual Seeds of Hope Tanzania Outreach Chinese auction at the Westhampton Beach church on Thursday, May 8, starting at 7 p.m. Proceeds from the auction will provide funding for various projects, including maintaining an orphanage for 14 children in the African nation.

The $10 donation at the door will get you 10 raffle tickets; additional tickets are five for $5 or an arm’s length for $20. If you would like to donate an item for the auction, please call Deb Mazura at (631) 801-2269.

The Westhampton Beach Farmers Market will open for the season on Saturday, May 10, in the municipal parking lot at 85 Mill Road in the village. It will be open every Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., through November 22. There will be more than 40 vendors selling locally grown, caught or homemade items.

Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead will be holding its annual Garden Festival, from Thursday, May 8, through Sunday, May 11. As usual, an assortment of plants and flowers will be sold on the Great Lawn here in Westhampton Beach, as well as the hospital’s new medical campus, located on Route 111 in Manorville and, as always, at the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. that Thursday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday. Organizers are now selling $10 garden vouchers that can be redeemed for $15 worth of merchandise at the festival. The deadline to buy those vouchers is Tuesday, May 6. The Westhampton Beach Amazing Race will be held on Saturday, May 24, starting at 10:30 a.m., and is being sponsored by the Westhampton Beach Hurricane Education Foundation, the Kiwanis Key Club and Rotary Interact.
