Second-graders in April Carone’s class sang “The Green Team” at Morning Program to bring environmental awareness to the rest of the school family. They also made a PowerPoint presentation of pictures of themselves and their creations from objects that would have ordinarily been recycled or thrown away. Their projects included watering cans, shoebox houses and wind chimes.

Two visitors from Bay Street Theater visited Morning Program to talk about their Summer Kids Theater Camp programs. Julia Motyka did an improv demonstration of some of the activities at camp programs.

On the next two Thursdays, May 15 and 22, students and their families are invited to help get the garden open for the season. Meet at the elementary school greenhouse at 3 p.m. and bring wheelbarrows and shovels, if possible.

A Celebration of Our Children, the annual open house, will be held on Monday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. Family and friends are invited to come in to see the academic and artistic work of the students displayed throughout the school.

The annual spring concert takes place on Thursday, May 22, at 7 p.m. in the gymnasium.

School will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.
