I would be remiss if I did not mention what an important day Monday, May 26, is. Memorial Day is a time for reflection and giving thanks to those who gave so much for this country. So often we get caught up in holidays and days off from work that we forget the real meaning of days like Memorial Day. Let us always remember that we live in the land of the free, because of the brave. The Village of Southampton Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events will hold a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at Agawam Park. Preceding the service, there will be a short parade, beginning at approximately 10:45 a.m., from the First Presbyterian Church, down Jobs Lane, to the park.
