Two Eagle Scouts Honored In Westhampton Beach

Two Westhampton Beach High School freshmen joined the ranks of Eagle Scout on Sunday afternoon during a Court of Honor ceremony held inside the Westhampton Beach Firehouse. Luke Dalton reached Eagle Scout status, the highest honor in the Boy Scouts of America organization, by cataloging, boxing and storing historic memorabilia from the fire department and district in anticipation of the Sunset Avenue firehouse’s demolition to make way for a new department headquarters. Meanwhile, Thomas Montagna’s Eagle Scout project consisted of planting beach grass and installing a sand fence on Rogers Beach in the village after Hurricane Sandy destroyed it. KYLE CAMPBELL PHOTOS
