Felony Drug Charges Filed Against Three Men In Riverhead

James Lennon, 32, of Flanders, was arrested by New York State Police on June 5 at approximately 11:04 p.m., according to a release issued by the department on June 6, and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a narcotic drug in the fourth degree, a class C felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; and driving while ability impaired by drugs, a felony.

The arrest came after state police responded to a call of an “erratic vehicle traveling eastbound” on Route 27 in Southampton Town by County Route 104. When they located the vehicle, the driver failed to maintain his lane, and they pulled him over for the traffic violation, police said. Mr. Lennon had “glassy, bloodshot eyes,” police said, and failed a field sobriety test. He was then placed under arrest for DWI and “an inventory search of the vehicle and two passengers yielded PCP liquid form and cocaine.” Passengers Andre Coach, 38, of Riverhead, and Giselle Douglas, 30, of Flanders, were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a narcotic drug in the fourth degree, a class C felony; and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. All three subjects were held for arrangement in Southampton Town Justice Court.
